One paw. Every breaker listens.
Cat wif Off Button
He requested quiet and accidentally achieved complete residential silence.
The Quiet Request
The vacuum started at 8:03. Cat wif Off Button watched it cross the rug twice, placed one paw on the oversized rocker, and removed electricity from the argument. The vacuum stopped. So did the refrigerator, router, hallway lamp, kettle, bathroom fan, and one optimistic phone charger. He remained beside the switch, eyes half closed, accepting the apartment's sudden cooperation as the minimum reasonable outcome. No appeal was filed before lunch.
House Rule
If one appliance gets loud, every appliance may reflect quietly in the dark.
After The Click
The same paw stays parked on the rocker while the rooms behind him lose their hum. He does not inspect the fuse box, apologize to the freezer, or acknowledge the blinking clock. The work is complete when nothing nearby can develop a second opinion. Somewhere, ice cream softens, a laptop saves four percent, and a neighbor tests the hallway bulb. He keeps smiling because noise has reached the correct level.
Two Settings
Mildly Bothered
He narrows his eyes and gives the nuisance one final chance.
Perfectly Satisfied
He cuts power upstairs and settles in before the motor stops.
Cat wif Off Button
Quiet at last, everywhere at once.
